MidSARC - a small friendly group who are passionate about all things amateur radio. We have members based all around the Mid-Somerset area, from quirky Glastonbury to magnificent Wells. Whilst we hold regular club nets we also meet on the 2nd Monday of each month in the historic market town of Shepton Mallet, so do drop by and say hello.

Our 2M Club nets are every Monday at 20:00 UK Local (except for Club Meetings) and every Friday at 15:00 Uk Local.

Working from the train… it’s great hearing the chuffing of the engine

Today we’re doing some recce work at the wonderful East Somerset Railway ahead of Railways on the Air at the end of the month. #RailwaysOnTheAir #eastsomersetrailway #amatuerRadio

Just another gentle reminder to those in Somerset. Our next monthly meeting is Monday 9th June. 7.30PM. Baptist Church Rooms, Shepton Mallet. @M0RKM is giving his talk on the Z30 Numeric Engima Machine. There is chance to try out his recreation as well, so if you’re in the area do pop in.

Now we’re back to somewhere with decent mobile coverage - the irony hasn’t escaped us in regard to the HF connectivity, we thought you’d like to see where we were as well as our map of Mill contacts.

Also we hope we’ve not tried your patience today with our posts but we’re super stoked to be operating and the ability to toot whilst we did it was just too much too resist.

Do let us know if you’d like us to toot along.
