#FunkWhale: Like SoundCloud, for music
#Bookwyrm: Like Goodreads
#Pixelfed: like Instagram, offers image galleries
All of these, including Masto, can talk to each other - so you can create an account on a Bookwyrm instance to keep track of your reading, and people on Masto can follow it! 🤯

1. Boost good posts to your followers
2. Search hashtags to find stuff that interest you
3. If you're never posting anything people won't find and follow you
4. Add a profile image to make life more colorful 
5. Generate an invite link and send it to your friends
6. Ask questions
Dear #TwitterMigration folks, an important tip on #privacy on the fediverse:
There is none.
This is a public medium; please treat it as such. Just as you have no privacy on Twitter (Elon Musk can read all your DMs), you have no privacy on the instance you’re on (your administrators can read all your posts).
You can set the visibility of a post but that’s a viewing suggestion, not a privacy guarantee.
Think of your posts as postcards, not sealed letters, and you should be fine.
