Billionaires and the establishment threw all the money in the world to steal this election from New Yorkers. They lost badly. Never underestimate the power everyday people have when they organize ✊️
Do I think that the national Democratic Party will learn anything from Mamdani's win? No. Do I think it is important to enjoy a goddamn victory once in a while? Yes.
Absurd! Trump’s DOJ appears to threaten that if the court doesn’t reconsider its ruling that Kilmar Abrego Garcia can’t be held on (flimsy-seeming) criminal charges, it might be forced to deport him ASAP—and doesn’t the judge agree that would be a shame? storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

A Purple Heart recipient who lived in the US for 48 years had his green card revoked and was told to deport himself within three weeks. He obtained legal permanent residency through a green card. While serving, he was shot in the spine and honorably discharged. As a result of his injuries, he got addicted to drugs and served two and a half years in prison.

"President Trump sucks. I will try to come back after Trump leaves," Park told Newsweek in a statement.

Please stop sharing this picture of JD Vance. The Vice President is not happy that it's going viral. JD's wife told reporters he is so upset that he hasn't left the couch all day. He's so distraught that he won't even let her go in the room.

Surprising no one, new mid-road yield signs that were installed 2 weeks ago after a pedestrian was killed by a driver have already been hit and knocked down by a driver. #PedestrianSafety #nashville
@kimu needs to be a concrete bollard
@stefani I would really enjoy that.
@kimu There is one at a crosswalk near an elementary school that was 20 yards from its post in someone's yard over the weekend.
@stephenyeargin they seem utterly useless and pointless overall.
@kimu @stephenyeargin
Concrete and steel do a much better job, but our city is more afraid of being blamed for scraped paint off a car than continuing to see people killed on our streets.
@PeterRobison @kimu @stephenyeargin
You mean something like this that is available from any big box retail store for anyone to purchase?

@belcher @kimu @stephenyeargin
Nashville, like most American cities, will drag its feet to install these, but will remove them overnight if someone else does it.

Heck, NDOT removes them even when NDOT installs them, this was on my regular route in April after someone complained. Several years in the making, but gone overnight.

@PeterRobison @kimu @stephenyeargin

Oh, I know the street you took this pic on.

It’s outside my house.

And NDOT had a “community meeting” where they only notified certain houses on the block.
I was not invited even though I had a hub Nashville request in to reinstall them.

@PeterRobison @kimu @stephenyeargin
And, just so everyone gets a fair share of the blame, I immediately emailed my council person to complain that they removed a safety feature from a bike lane my kid uses.

She said there would be a community meeting to discuss it, and I asked to be invited. When I was informed of the meeting by NDOT (the day after the meeting), my council person eventually said that NDOT handled the invites and she didn’t send any out.

@belcher @kimu @stephenyeargin
I have a pending open records act request about that removal.
@belcher @kimu @stephenyeargin Also, we should meet up for drinks sometime to share notes and air some grievances. 😄 Plantation Pub, Players Inn, whatever.

@PeterRobison @kimu @stephenyeargin

We should get together!

And a bunch of the bollards were put directly in front of mailboxes, so a lot of the complaints were due to NDOT completely stopping mail delivery for some houses. They did not send their A-team on this install.
Other complaints were because people thought the road was too narrow because they couldn’t drive in the bike lane anymore 😂

@kimu

Make one with reinforced steel core.

@kimu Jesus.

"This is my motor vehicle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My motor vehicle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My motor vehicle, without me, is useless. Without my motor vehicle, I am useless. I must drive my motor vehicle true. I must drive over the things in my way that are trying to stop me. …"

@kimu yea, here are some wands in London protecting a cycle lane. Useless.
