@inklings @GreenFire @stopgopfox Fun fact: HRC did not actually name Tulsi Gabbard when she said she believed the Russians were grooming a candidate who was in the Democratic primary.
@viccimn To watch metaphorically burn.

#JohnMastodon is proof that things *CAN* go viral here on Mastodon, but the key is that *YOU* are the algorithm. The reason that the John Mastodon meme showed up on other people's timelines is because so many users boosted the posts.

The lesson here is: please don't just favourite something if you really enjoyed it; BOOST it so that other people can enjoy it, too! This is the only reason why I bother to create as large a social graph as I can on Mastodon—to act as an amplifier. You can, too!❤️😉

@AlexGizis I think you're wrong about no new character will be remembered. I think Enid will be. It definitely should have been weirder though.
@feditips I tried you can make a link clickable with just http:// https:// is more modern though. http://fark.com https://fark.com

@mehdihasan Nope. He's gotten away with way too much for way too long, and the special counsel/prosecutor will simply delay further despite what so-called legal experts claim (Garland needs to communicate with the counsel about what's already been found and the counsel needs to assemble a team), which enables him to delay even longer.
@TCatInReality @yuhline That's why I said "at least in part." I can acknowledge that gerrymandering and ignoring courts ny Republican-controlled states are also part of the problem.
@TCatInReality @yuhline Personally, I am blaming Jay Jacobs, New York State Democratic Party Chair at least in part. He also compared a black Democratic candidate for mayor to David Duke. https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2021/10/19/ny-democratic-chair-jay-jacobs-under-fire-for-david-dukes-analogy
NY Democratic Chair Jay Jacobs under fire for David Duke analogy

Walton is a self-described Democratic Socialist.

@TCatInReality @yuhline That's only part of the story. In 2021, NYS had 5 statewide ballot proposals. Republicans campaigned against 3 of them. One of the proposals would have adjusted how the bipartisan redistricting commission would work. Part of it was attempting to make it harder for the commission to stalemate. The state Dem Party under the leadership of Jay Jacobs spent $0 on campaigning for them, so 3 failed, the commission stalemated, and then the gerrymandered maps happened.
