as much as elon would claim his daughter (he says son, but that's rude) is just blindly following a trend to try to be cool in coming out as trans, i think the actually trendhoppy thing in the musk family was several years before & elon claiming to have the 'tism/be an aspie.
that moment in time aligned with bored rich people claiming coeliac as their own, & elon was just trying to be part of a scene.
(also, if anyone is to "blame" for elon's trans daughter, it's elon, since in utero trans coding is very likely the result of what was included in the batch of the father that went toward conception.)
