@BramMeehan It’s one of those series that was really good, and I think sold big numbers since it’s in almost every shop’s back issues bin, but it seems like hardly anyone has read or remembers it. Jason Aaron mentioned it as a big influence on his recent Bug Wars series.

I don’t find it objectionable. She’s just selling some shoes, she looks fine, and actually it flatters those of us who, like her, are over 50 and therefore perhaps interested in shoes that you can slip on without bending over. A little glamour attached to a product for decrepit GenXers.
Apparently, people are mad about the Sketchers ad campaign featuring Sofia Vergara. The reasons? 1) I saw someone from Toronto complain that the ad in the Star was too suggestive. She seemed to think that “Just Step In” was a double entendre and the photos were “porny” 2) On LinkedIn I saw a marketer say, “there is NO universe in which I believe Sophia (sic) Vergara wears Sketchers. #advertising
