Ever wanted to be a games programmer?

As part of the Ancient And Nameless (And Fun And Stupid) 20-second game jam, DragonRuby is currently free https://itch.io/jam/kifass-4

The Jam starts tomorrow, and will probably get extended at least twice. The goal is to make a game (alone or as part of a group) that takes 20 seconds to play and is fun and stupid. (And maybe has a theme of Ancient and Nameless)

Don't give me bad ideas... I'm now wondering just how much would hit the fan if I put a bare drive on the floor near one of the data halls...

@iris_meredith

Am I a member of the set of all members who feel called out by this observation, or am I a member of the set of sets containing people who don't or don't understand?

Can I describe my reaction in terms of cons cells?

@astraluma

Or maintain the mystery, and send people wearing your nametag when you don't really feel up to meeting someone.

@kirakira

Absolutely. Pico8 (And Picotron) are delightfully fun.

@glyph

This is actually really neat, and the pricing seems quite good. Thank you for sharing.

@kirakira

If you have per-panel (or per-cell? That would be fancy) tracking, then yes! And... I want to build this now. Just to see if it can make cool images of the sun

@iris_meredith

An easy to embed output that links back would be neat. Either a blurb of the Class, or a star plot.. Depends on the vibe you want, I suppose.

@iris_meredith

It would be eye-catching and all the HR personality quizzes I've taken give one. Plus you already have a numeric value for all the classes.

@iris_meredith

Well, if you're looking for specifics, the first question about tech I picked "teenager", but I've been futzing with computers and Basic since I was in single digits. Still, self-taught -> some school -> solving problems was my path and your question let me pick the right starting point.

On languages, I picked "useful tools for system tasks" where what I really tend to pick is "whatever I'm playing with at the time unless something else works better"

Huh, just took it again and almost the same result except now I'm 0 Warlock, and 7 Rogue instead of 1 and 6. I would be really fascinated to know what those are. Ohh, maybe see them on some sort of star plot. My management team would find that exciting.
