@infoseclogger A peer observed - ‘you cut yourself from cyber’ . What he meant related to me like wrestling team in that you simply show up for practice and compete , make the team simply through attrition. There’s a supply shortage of talent, and yes you need to do the work (and win the war of attrition) but there’s a spot for anyone who tries, has passion for cyber and yes a talent that will be revealed

@jerry Interesting stat - tbh I kinda like the niche / boutique feel here …very 90s BBS (meant as a sincere compliment). Wondering if any staffing / budget parallels ..recent enterprise security program exercise and search for third party stats revealed average CIO IT budget = 10% of Corporate Budget. Avg CISO budget = 10% of CIO budget or 1% of Corp Budget.
@jerry As a #RecoveringCISO enjoy time off with the comforting knowledge that average CISO tenure / best before date is under 18 months ‘This too will pass’ ;-)
@jerry Joined Mastadon a week ago via referencing @infosec …awesome….pretty much done with social media other than LI which is a necessary business networking tool (but being overtaken fast) . This reminds me of Reddit subgroups and 90s tech world ….thanks
