Spotify stopped pretending to exercise editorial oversight over the increasingly vile Joe Rogan.
And of course, Twitter is now run by a right-wing extremist who uses the platform to promote right-wing extremism.
This is the social-media trendline as we head into an election that will decide the fate of democracy.

In underreported news, the EPA reversed a Trump-era decision on plastic processing, which closes a major loophole that allowed the chemical industry to pass off toxic disposal as sustainable recycling. It isn’t.

Ample time and staff resources are needed to study and gain a technical and regulatory understanding of the air quality impacts of pyrolysis. In the meantime, the process should remain subject to more stringent regulatory requirements, the U.S. EPA decided.
