@TH3R3P41RM4N I put The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin on my X-Mas wishlist, so likely that. Currently I've taken a break and am casually re-reading some Edgar Allen Poe stories.
Today’s Things to Remember:
1. Fevers are not dangerous
2. Not all bugs needs drugs
3. Coughs can linger after viral infections
4. Vaccines work and are available for the flu and COVID
5. Wash your hands
6. Stay home when sick

Alberta - resource rich, morality poor.

I do not blame the man for choosing to die with dignity rather than live & die on the street. Our system creates and then neglects our most vulnerable. But sure, Dani, the Feds are the enemy. The #alberta advantage, my ass

Fauci: “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that public health policy decisions are driven by the best available data. Scientists and health workers can do their part by speaking up, including to new and old media sources, to share and explain in plain language the latest scientific findings as well as what remains to be learned.”

@TH3R3P41RM4N That one is on my reading list !
Finally finished Stranger in a strange land the other day - definitely one of my top reads. I'm a big e-book reader but buy physical copies of my "top-tier/favourites" so I think this one is gonna get a coveted spot on the bookshelf

Hey, #MedMastodon, show some love to the Global Public Health eXchange, (https://gphx.org) our brand new project that is born out of the need to connect students and practitioners of #PublicHealth to come together and exchange ideas!

@scepticemia, @parthsharma13, & I have been interviewing some amazing people and getting to know why they chose Public Health. Hoping their trajectories can help other early career folks pave their own paths.

Remember friends, a dinosaur isn't just for Christmas. You should probably stop to think whether you should, even if you could.

But *if* you could, I've made this handy guide.

@TH3R3P41RM4N Honestly, I deep-dived into classic sci-fi over the past year (and also loved Starship Troopers).

Neuromancer by William Gibson, Solaris by Stanislaw Lem, and Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut are at the top of my list.

I'm still exploring newer stuff, but I enjoyed Blindsight by Peter Watts (but could not get into the sequel).
