@ki4otk I'm going to hijack your comment a bit. I wish the FCC would explicitly allow encryption. I'm not even against a requirement that you make your key public so it can be decrypted. I believe that that is technically permitted now, but too many people argue that is is completely off limits. Lots of people would benefit from knowing how encryption in radios works.
@ki4otk You're probably better putting a small speaker inside the interior cloth trim, either near the A or B pillar.
@vk6flab Rolling your own does nothing to address abusive admins that will ban entire instances because they don't like the color blue and you do.
@vk6flab I'm not saying it's the case here, but the fediverse isn't much/any better. I understand it's decentralized and people can run their own servers, but people like to use an axe instead of a scalpel. One person or an admin doesn't like you or your server and they'll blacklist your entire server, preventing *any* of their users from seeing or interacting with your posts. The #fediban hashtag is a great example of people blocking to block without regard for users.

It's amazing how abusive Reddit radio mods are. You're not allowed to discuss or debate anything unless you're arguing on their side. If you aren't, claim they've broken a rule that doesn't actually apply, ban, mute, whatever to stop you from communicating. For being an "open" community, r/rtlsdr, r/hamradio, r/amateurradio It doesn't matter. None of them are very open.

Don't get me wrong, it's not just the radio community. There are others.

I did recently order some #Meshtastic devices to mess with. We'll see how that goes and if I need to get some for the ham bands.
Thanks everyone. You won't hear me on the radio much as I much prefer to listen. I do like tinkering with #dmr and #aprs here and there. I want to get into #ft8 or or #js8call or something similar that I can do with my #technician license, but it's low on the priority list.
