Trying out Mastadon, let's see where it goes. Alons-y

@yuukikonno I say this from time to time with colleagues and explain why it matters.

The interesting thing with people not admitting they are wrong, is it is a protection mechanism with psychology sometimes. Instead of dealing with the pain of being wrong, they double down or find something that relates to that idea to try and rationalize why they could be right.

"We are not rational people, we are rationalizing people"

We aren't born with rationale, our brains try to figure it out constantly

@marcusjenkins @randahl Couldn't agree more.

It's frustrating to see people who could actually help solve problems, but they chose violence instead.

I'm really curious what Elon thinks he will get out of this.

Everything I see in the camps of Elon and Trump, everyone is a backstabbing liar. So I'm just really curious how they think this is going to play out.

I'd like to clarify the origin of the accusations against #ImaneKhelif because I don't think most people realize where they came from. The vitriolic mix of of misogynist, transphobic and racist insults against the Algerian athlete started days before the match, largely on Italian papers belonging to far-right politicians and businessmen. Here's a few examples from late July (English translation of the titles is in the alt text). 1/8

@[email protected] @waldoj Those children are going to have some interesting psychology eventually. I have no doubt though they will put them through some kind of indoctrination courses.

Insane situation.

@MostlyHarmless It is interesting how far we have come and how far we have fell off.

I remember being on a lot of various boards growing up, and I remember learning about my own bias and confirmation bias issues as I kept using various websites.

I'm thankful for those moments because it helped me question things better. But it is interesting to watch an entire population just accept anything now days.

@marcusjenkins @randahl Exactly this, It's incredible how much money he is willing to spend on stupid items such as this. A lot of money could be used to push us forward as a human whole, but they don't see it that way.
