In the 20 years of the old rules system, where trans women were allowed after two years of complete HRT, there was one (1) trans woman Olympian. She didn't medal in anything.
The Beeb ran an article leading up to this a few days ago. Their photo with the headline about trans women was of Imane Khelif, a CIS women that MAGA and terfdom decided was trans no matter what, because she was too strong and not pretty enough, and s if a nation that literally EXECUTES QUEER PEOPLE OF LITERALLY EVERY KIND would fucking send a trans athlete to represent them in the Olympics.
It's an exemplar of the obscene stupidity and evil hatred in which they revel, and now it's policy.
