Q: How did the mansplainer die?
A: He fell down a well, actually.
Everything you've said is true. I love books, too.
But to me, books are only the boxes we've poured stories into.
I prefer ebooks because I can keep a dozen in my pocket, can move a library in my hand.
I never have to turn on a light to see the page or squint at type that's too small.
I don't need to get up from my chair to get the next book or get in my car to buy one.
At my age, convenience trumps appearance every time.

The last 24 hours on #mastadon looking at everybody's bio pages. Meeting new people, with different backgrounds, jobs, interests. So different from my life.
Who may live close to me or thousands of miles. And yet we connect. I think that's a perfect analogy of why I have always been so happy to be #progressive .
That is what makes the world wonderful to me. Diversity. Learning about new people, cultures, ideas. It amazes me that people want to condemn that and demand assimilation.
