@siracusa Thanks for the response. I’ll look into Marvis Pro.

@siracusa Is there a good replacement for iTunes on macOS?

I have nearly a terabyte of bootleg concerts, obscure EPs, etc that I want to listen to locally and the Music App is kind of a mess. (I feel like if anyone had an opinion about this it would be you.)

@tvaziri How does it hold up? I’ve avoided watching it out of an assumption that it would be full of kinda racist, noble savage, white saviour tropes. But I’ll admit this assumption is purely based on it being a 40 year old network tv show.
@tvaziri Mifune is in Shōgun??
@overcastfm
New episodes of shows have stopped showing up in my All Episodes playlist. They also don’t show under Current. I have to switch to All view to find them.
@TheSpaceshipper A surprisingly great show. Especially after he dropped any pretence of parody and just made a sincere TNG revival.
@tvaziri This is nuts. I love the movie, but even at the time the fx work was not exactly seamless.
No idea how one could mistake these awkwardly shiny early stage cg creatures as puppets.
@gedeonm *If* I’d seen this show already, I’d probably tell you that you are in for a treat and that it perfectly captures the B:TAS vibe while going in interesting new directions.
@gedeonm I don’t agree with those reviews. But I also don’t really like Aliens. I can recogonize the craftsmanship, but my problem is:
Alien is a perfect horror film, with an almost Lovecraftian terror of the unknown and incomprehensible. It’s strange and gross and unlike anything else. Cameron’s sequel is basically Starship Troopers without the satire.
I also adore The Terminator and dislike T2 for similar reasons.
**I know I am extremely in the nerd minority here.**
@tvaziri aside i keep forgetting to relay:
A major studio’s big fall release makes extensive use of puppets and stop-motion animation. They’re worried because gen z “only cares about cgi”. They’re trying to figure out to how to hide the “traditonal fx” in the marketing.
I felt like I was in bizarro world.
