This is Kaelith. One of the first characters I really developed in MoonShadow. She’s finishing her education, and decides she wants to try Dueling in the Amateur Circuit.
The Amateur Circuit is designed so that, if a fighter wins every fight, they’ll be eligible for entering a tournament. 16 fighters. The final 4 get to move up to the Pro League in the next season.
Combat magic is banned in city limits. It’s also very hard to learn. So, the Pro League is made of the truly powerful.
