I liked the technology, and then I also liked the connections.
Every morning I'd carry our newborn half a block up the hill, and I'd point west and say:
"That's the Pacific Ocean. It's the largest body of water in the world, and you can see it from where you live. And if you can learn to manage projects and put up with some bullshit, you can do almost anything you really want to do."
Then, we'd walk home.
