In the end the EU policy has been focused on massive economic sanctions in regard to Russia, which unfortunately have had less effect than initially was hoped for.

I also like to see more defense budget. However there's much more to it, why the EU has acted 'moderately' in regard to Ukraine war.

One of them was energy dependency on Russia and that was cleverly played out by Putin. Currently EU has been putting all it's efforts to change this dependency.

Another one is that if we interfered massively it would probably have resulted in a nuclear intervention of Putin and that could be the start of world war III.

@simdoes @riversidebryan I've had a discussion with an American tourist about this, who visited my city.

From a EU perspective, there will always be strong ties to the US, however I am happy that we're trying to stand on ourselves, especially defence wise, so that we also can be more independent in our own Western values and policy decisions.

I personally think USA's politics sometimes goes a bit far in interfering with foreign matters.
