the funniest thing about Apple is the last version of MacOS features "video reactions" where if your camera sees you do a thumbs up or heart symbol with your hands, stuff happens behind you like fireworks in ANY video app you are using BY DEFAULT.

A friend was in an online therapy session, describing his trauma so the therapist asked if he was alright and he did a thumbs up and then HUGE FIREWORKS BEHIND HIS HEAD.

It's so bad that online therapy sessions now start with a warning dialog!

Once again for all the naysayers in the back: Pointing out the harm that results from continued use of Twitter is NOT telling you what to think, and it's not telling you what to do.

Whatever you think of the people you follow on Twitter, it's a fact that the platform itself openly welcomes and even pays for far-right views. This makes Twitter no different than Breitbart or the Daily Caller.

Every tweet breathes oxygen into this far-right platform. Yes, I know it's not practical for some to completely shun the platform (I still use it occasionally to remind users of the harm), but maybe stop using it to share cute cat pics and discuss the latest FIFA game?

I am stepping back from the #Tusky project with immediate effect.

I discovered severe lapses in how the Tusky project's donations (received via #OpenCollective) were being handled. When I reported those to the project's private "Tusky Contributors" Matrix channel the financial admins tone policed the feedback, refused to engage with the concerns I and others raised, and demanded the discussion be stopped.
