This puts workers and consumers on the frontline of fighting inflation.
But corporations largely responsible for driving up prices get away scot-free.
It's outrageous.
The GOP's so-called "Fair Tax" proposal is one of the most regressive proposals in a generation, imposing a 30% federal sales tax on everything Americans buy from gas to food.
There's nothing "fair" about it. It would punish the poor and middle class while helping the rich.
Inflation-adjusted wages continue to drop.
Meanwhile, the federal minimum wage hasn’t been raised in 13 years. Adjusted for inflation, its value is the lowest it's been in 66 years.
You don’t have to be a financial wizard to see why some workers might say the hell with it.
