Yo #Destiny2 folks, here’s a good pre-expansion tip I got from my clan: you might want to consider removing mods from your armor. There was a time a year or two ago when they made big changes to mods and a bunch of stuff was broken for a few days.
There’s an easy way to automate this with DIM (Destiny Item Manager):
- search for “is:armor” (without the quotes)
- In the three dots menu on the right, choose “Strip Sockets”
- A dialog appears that can strip all shaders, ornaments, and mods
- I only selected mods (fashion matters and IMO isn’t likely to break)
- I had 534 mods to remove
- The process will take a while, probably since DIM doesn’t want to hammer the API
- Mine has taken around 2 hours and probably needs 30 min more
- Servers go down sometime early tomorrow morning to apply the update, which means DIM loses access
- If you want to do this, do it tonight
