Rogan’s job at Spotify apparently is to say whatever got Roseanne fired.

Joe Rogan describes Soros as someone “playing a global game” who “wants cities to fall apart” and as “an evil person in a Batman movie.”

Last week a controversial anarchist Twitter personality was announced to have died in a knife attack. In actuality she never lived. She was the product of a serial catfisher who’s previously been run offline for sexting while posing as an anarchist woman. (This is also the first story I’ve written that emerged from the Mastodon community!) https://www.thedailybeast.com/serial-catfisher-posed-as-anarchist-sex-worker-to-tweet-about-15-year-olds
Serial Catfisher Posed as Anarchist Sex Worker to Tweet About 15-Year-Olds

Anarqxista Goldman was controversial in “life,” tweeting about the supposed lustiness of underage girls. Her supposed death revealed her to be a hoax by a 54-year-old man.

Seriously, George Santos claims he never said he was Jewish but rather that that he "was Jew-ish."

This is ludicrous and offensive -- and also the lamest attempt to get out of a lie that I think I've seen.

He must step down.

I've tried not to bring too much baggage with me from COVID Twitter but this NYTimes story is appalling. Not only do they paint those still wearing masks as holdouts, but they somehow couldn't find someone who wears anything in between a handmade cloth mask and an elastomeric P100, giving the impression that the remaining mask wearers are either wearing ineffectual protection or wearing a level of protection that most people were unwilling to adopt even pre-vaccination.

Seeing signs of this already with the rise of TikTok: “By the end of 2023, Twitter no longer sets the daily news agenda by default for the entire US press. This will come as an enormous relief to many publishers, who have long wished their reporters wouldn’t spend so much time tweeting anyway" ~ @caseynewton

For anyone wondering, I'm still unable to access Twitter until I delete this tweet, which is factual journalism that doesn't even break the location rule Twitter enacted a few days ago. The account isn't marked as suspended anymore, but I can't use it or see tweets from people I follow. Using Mastodon exclusively for now and actually really enjoying it.
Question for Mastodon experts, is there a way to get some sort of notification feed for mutuals only? I love my general notifs but it’s hard to keep up and I often miss replies from good friends. I’d love a way to skim just those in addition to the general notifs
Twitter suspends Mastodon account, prevents sharing links

On Dec 16, Twitter suspended our @joinmastodon account after we shared a link to the newly registered Mastodon account of @ElonJet, an account that broadcasts public flight path data of Elon Musk’s private jet, which was previously suspended from Twitter itself. At the same time, accounts of multiple journalists from major publications such as CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, as well as various independent journalists, were likewise suspended for either linking to the account itself or talking about the event.

For thousands of years, fermenting beer was considered a household task for #women.

By the Middle Ages, some sold beer at English markets. Female brewers wore tall, pointy hats to be easily spotted. They stood by cauldrons & often had cats to keep mice away.

Sound familiar? It should.

You see, when male brewers felt threatened, they accused the women of witchcraft. These rumors may have led to some witch iconography we still recognize today.

Women used to dominate the beer industry – until the witch accusations started pouring in

Today, beer is marketed to men and the industry is run by men. It wasn’t always that way.
