@elight

No, I like the shiny.

@SmudgeTheInsultCat

Only in case the first Cybertruck breaks down they will have a second one to get home.

@SecureOwl I would have instantly thought this was a scam and paid zero attention to it.

Ok, first and foremost - an Amber alert, I hope it all works out and the kids are all safe. And I get the need to disseminate information as quickly as possible.

Secondly, I have many feelings about a government alert being broadcast to phones containing a bitly link to an X [dot] com post. The X post, is not accessible if you are not logged in to X/Twitter.

We desperately need to decouple our government departments and agencies from commercial entities when it comes to Crisis communications. This, in my opinion, is pretty unacceptable.

@briankrebs

Tell me about it.

I'm also pissed that I have to have an X account just to see what stupid shit my US representative Keith Self is saying.

@plinth Actually, Post Malone is part of a bootstrap paradox.

Much like the watch In the film Somewhere in Time, where a character receives a pocket watch from an elderly woman. He later travels back in time and gives the same watch to a younger version of the woman, creating a loop where the watch's origin is indeterminate.

Post in Post Malone is just a reference point.

Hey, folks. There's some lists going around of US Senator's official phone numbers. Some of it's like ... blurry screenshots of a PDF.

You can find the official information here: https://www.senate.gov/senators/

If you would prefer to find that information without going to a .gov site (and who can blame you), I've already done the annoying work for you. I'll reply to this post (Unlisted) with 20 senators at a time, sorted by state.

U.S. Senate: Senators

Call Chuck Schumer's Washington D.C. office and let him know exactly how you feel.
Phone: (202) 224-6542.

The office opens at 9 am.

Flood his office and make this hashtag trend.

#TimetoChuckSchumer

@mshelton I feel like i've heard this news before.

@SecureOwl one of my favorite hobbies is emailing my local politicians to get them to make changes. Sometimes they are receptive and sometimes they are not, (a lot of that has to do with my tone.) But you are a writer and communicator, I bet you could get the ball rolling and moving in the right direction
@SecureOwl agreed. this was one of the biggest fears from musk buying the platform, cause it had become so ubiquitous during the Obama years that it started to become infrastructural
@SecureOwl 100% my thoughts when I saw this as well
@SecureOwl NYC's alert system often links to Flickr for photos missing persons or other imporant info... unfortunately, Flickr is often sporadically down, especially when tens or hundreds of thousands of people in a single city suddenly visit a site with underfunded infrastructure.
@SecureOwl Find a party that can change policy for next time. 99% they've just never thought of it this way. I think you'd have a good chance of success.
