I know this is going to be completely out of left field, but I have absolutely no idea what the new #digg is attempting to accomplish. The UI is insane.

The fact that its "beta test" is a feed of #AI news is just deeply on brand for Kevin Rose though.

Holy heck, what happened to #DIGG?!?

It's 100% hallucinating AI-generated articles. It's completely out to lunch!

Example headline:

"Pope XIV announces partnership with Anthropic to address the ethical and moral implications of advanced AI"

Yeah, that didn't happen.

While it could be useful for tracking AI news, it’s unclear if it will attract regular users or compete with existing news platforms. https://techcrunch.com/2026/05/11/digg-tries-again-this-time-as-an-ai-news-aggregator/?eicker.news #tech #media #news

In an email to beta testers, the company said the site's goal is to "track the most influential voices in a space" and to surface the news that's actually worth "paying attention to."

Digg is back! Again! After relaunching in January as a Reddit competitor and shutting down in March, it's now re-relaunching as a news aggregator, initially focused on ranking the latest on AI. @Techcrunch's @Sarahp has more.

Went to sign into Digg for the first time in a month or so only to find it’s been shut down lol…but only to be restarted as some AI summary news app? I don’t know what I’m looking at #ai #Digg

TechCrunch: Digg tries again, this time as an AI news aggregator. “In an email to beta testers, the company said the site’s goal is to ‘track the most influential voices in a space’ and to surface the news that’s actually worth ‘paying attention to.’ AI is the area it’s testing this idea with, but if successful, Digg will expand to include other topics. The email warned that the site was […]
