Upgrading the common person's online security one post at a time..
Stupid question just to check my own understanding. Passkeys seem great. Unique private key stored on my device so I don't need a dedicated device like a Yubi key. So doesn't that just mean my device that stores the key is now the weak point? If someone breaks into my device do they now have access to my private keys?
@WPalant oh yeah it's hilarious reading between the lines in their statements. It's just a timeline of lies and an ineptitude.
@WPalant one would hope. It's a little bit of a trend that these companies seem to stretch the truth about their "security features". Kind of tough to verify as the common person just trying to protect themselves.
@WPalant Forgive my ignorance, but does a product like #1password bolster this single point of failure with its secret key feature?
@WPalant i mean...reading their blog posts its so damming. I'd be gunshy too.

@sc00bz @bitwarden @jpgoldberg thanks for the info re: 1Password. I've been evangelizing that particular product. Good to know it which context it shines as opposed to Dashlane.

Happy New Year. Slainte

Happy #caturday . Sweater is love, sweater is life.
@cybersecdancer feeling similar as a man. Heaviest I've ever been rn. Not doing wonders for the ol' confidence.
Here to learn more about infosec from the experts. I run a small blog, teaching the common person how to upgrade their online security. My hope is to translate what I learn here, into information that is useful for them!

hi @epixoip I run a small blog focused on upgrading online security for the common person. I was wondering if you would have some time to share your ideas on what the common person can do upgrade their infosec.

Also I would appreciate if I could get your permission to share excerpts from your recent post about LastPass. I have to write a post retracting my prior recommendation of that product.
