The ESA Proba-3 mission, launched on Dec 5, 2024, consists of 2 spacecraft - the Coronagraph Spacecraft (CSC) and the Occulter Spacecraft (OSC), which will fly together in a 19.7 hour orbit. The OSC's 1.4m disk will eclipse the Sun, while the CSC, 150m away, will observe the Sunās corona for 6h per orbit.
The 2 spacecraft will autonomously maneuver themselves using thrusters and align to within 1 mm accuracy, using radio links, cameras, lasers and other sensors.

We now have a political assassin impersonating a police officer on the loose in Minnesota, which, aside from being horrifying in and of itself, underscores the danger of the proliferation of anonymous federal law enforcement deployments from a wide variety of unfamiliar agencies conducting aggressive immigration operations across the country.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz: former House speaker and husband killed in politically motivated shooting

Authorities are searching for a man suspected of shooting two Minnesota lawmakers. Authorities have identified him as 57-year-old Vance Boelter, of Green Isle. Melissa Hortman, a former Minnesota House Speaker, and her husband were fatally shot early Saturday in their Brooklyn Park home. A second state lawmaker, Sen. John Hoffman, and his wife were shot multiple times in nearby Champlin. They remain hospitalized. Gov. Tim Walz has called it āa politically motivated assassinationā and ordered flags flown at half-staff. The FBI has issued a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to Boelter's arrest and conviction.
