@davidjoffe64 Dave all we see on your Xtwitter account is this. Lots of people have complained to Xtwitter support:

Our immunity is waning. Our current bivalent vaccines aren’t designed for the new XBB-related variants.

This is what’s happening in the US right now. Without the new updated monovalent XBB vaccines (newly launched in USA) we will also see this sort of rapid surge in new cases.

STEADY

A period of respite more through luck than design. Cases in USA & Europe are rising and with waning immunity our turn will come.

NSW Covid-19 hospitalisations at lowest since “Let it Rip” in Dec 2021.

#LongCovid is the rising tsunami following the quake and continues to harm & debilitate hundreds of thousands of children & adults.

Without mitigations the next wave will follow …

@chu yeah, watching the news in other languages helps build a deeper insight into how other cultures and nations see the world and view major issues.

There are often English language transmissions (e.g. German, Japanese, Russian news …) which can give a similar insight, but you don’t pick up on many of the subtleties. When you could still watch Russian news Сегодня (‘Today’) as the original Russian broadcast it was shocking how extreme and ‘distorted’ the message was compared with most ‘reliable’ media.

Kudos to Dunedin's "Dicks Guy" Sam Sharpe. After a decade of standing beside the anti-abortionists outside the hospital holding his sign, He can finally stand down because the whole precinct is being designated a 'safe area'.

From August 25th, six new 'safe areas' will apply to hospitals country-wide, with more on the way.

Big win for Dunedin's 'dicks guy'

Sam Sharpe has led a counter-protest against abortion protesters for more than a decade. He's about to put his infamous sign away.
