 Today (Nov 20) is the Transgender Day of Rememberance (#TDoR), and especially today I want to dedicate and remember 2 things on my mind;

 The encroaching fascism on all trans and marginalised peoples of the world, which is continually ongoing, but seems to have flared up especially as of late. Remember those who have suffered for everyone to get here, that we even have protections and rights in the first place.

 The trans men who are among us, who are even more hidden in the shadows than trans women are in society, who suffer quietly, and disappear silently. I want to especially dedicate today's day to them, people just like us who just want to be happy with themselves, and proudly be who they are.

i hate "men bad women good" because it also affects children too, what if they transition later? like me? i had to deconstruct so much gender essentialism bullshit just to start taking testosterone and not feel guilty of just being a man instead of a nonbinary-only creature.

🦀🪟 Really exciting to see that Microsoft is not only shipping Rust in the kernel, but also considers their use of Rust a major security feature worthy of being one of the highlights in their update announcement. ✨

rust has a lot of problems, but let me tell you: “micro libraries” isn’t one

splitting packages per concern is good for build performance, it’s good for review, it’s good for API evolution.

the problems are technical (compiler perf), financial (funding OSS), human etc.

Two years ago, I experienced Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL), and am now almost completely deaf in one ear. This year, one of my colleagues had the same thing. Now I see there's a study out showing a strong correlation between COVID and SSNHL.
I guess that explains a lot. But, shit.
BTW If you find you suddenly lose hearing in one ear, get yourself to a specialist *immediately*. You have a 24-36 hour window to save your hearing before it becomes permanent.

By the way, it was 55 years ago today that the Apollo Guidance Computer first got people to the Moon.
