Britain used to have the most polluted beaches in the EU, because UK sewage is led via channels directly into the sea.

Fortunately, UK politicians have now solved the problem… by leaving the EU, so the country does now show up in environmental statistics.

But the problem is now even worse in the UK.

@Marsh love this so much!
I am a little behind in my goal of having a crossword puzzle published in the New York Times, but I've made an important first step: having a crossword puzzle rejected by the New York Times.
@danielpunkass Congratulations! And congratulations for when you finally get published in the New York Times (it will happen!)

Really happy to have contributed to Season 1 of Nwene, a crossword puzzle about Ghanaian pop culture. 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭

You can find it here 👇🏽

(This is also a thinly veiled attempt to find out where all the Ghanaians on Mastodon are) 😄

Folks, you don't know what other people are going through.

Let's be kind to everyone.

@halcy Want this soo bad lol. Looks fun!

Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed. That word is "Nazi."

Historians study their motives, but there is a broad understanding: their motives don’t exonerate them.
