Something happened this last weekend to @Caro and myself 🥰

It was a great pleasure to convene monday`s #egu23 session on effects of #Fire in the Earth system across spatiotemporal scales with the great Rebecca Scholten , Liza McDonough and @michcampbell.

My personal highlights were a Keynote by Michela Mariani on the interlinking of colonialism and changing fire regimes, our best question competition (the price being chocolate and a picture with the convener crew), as well as a great vegetarian/vegan session dinner..

Look who I met today while descending from a multi-pitch at innsbrucks Martinswand 😍

Stephanie Castan defended her PhD on the "impact and fate of anthropogenic particles in the natural environment" this week. 🥳

I am super thankful to have been part of her journey and look forward to seeing what she will accomplish at her new job at the Austrian environment agency (UBA)🤩

We have thoughts.

Policy options to account for multiple chemical pollutants threatening biodiversity

Chemical pollution poses a threat to biodiversity on a global scale. This has been acknowledged in the Post-2020 Biological Diversity Framework which proposes to regulate the release of chemicals to the environment and names specific indicators focusing on pesticides, nutrients and plastic waste. Solidarity to workers who #strike. If a strike is not uncomfortable, it's not done right.
