I’ve travelled to the US more than a hundred times for work, lived there for five years, & was a Green Card holder.
I always found it to be a fascinating & often beautiful country, & one that can achieve astonishing things.
And despite being a mess of contradictions, including many aspects that I personally disagree with, it always felt self-confident enough to allow discussion & debate about those issues.
No more, it seems, so I doubt I’ll be going there again.
