@rodhilton WFH benefits the worker as they can avoid the commute and can do personal errands as a break. RTO benefits the employer as it forces workers to 'network' with colleagues as a break, makes it harder to descretely look for your next job.

@tess Humans are also biased and flawed when making decisions, but also have self interest. Hence the scenarios you describe already happen. Deferring the decisions to a computer removes the guilt for the decision maker, so will happen more frequently.

People will think someone else will fix it, yet they don't want to pay taxes to pay for someone to fix it, so society slowly declines. From picking up a piece of litter, reporting a crime or leaky pipe, returning a shopping cart, volunteer for a community group, etc. These little things can make real improvements in your neighbourhood.
@backupbear like sports people, tech workers are paid big salaries as many careers will be cut short by burnout (injury). This gives them the luxury of being able to switch jobs or take a break.
Burnout is a bigger issue among low paid jobs where they need to constantly do overtime just to pay bills.
