I am a sociologist who studies social inequality and its dynamics across time and generations. Several current projects focus on wealth inequality and mobility.
Starting October 2023, I hold the Professorship for Social Inequality and Social Structures at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich).
I direct the Wealth and Mobility (WAM 💥 ) Study that will create a new public data infrastructure for the study of U.S. wealth.

Combatting radical wealth inequality requires political intervention, so I am happy to see our new video be picked up by Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib!
We made the video to help people visualize the vast inequality in U.S. wealth and provide a provocative statement that widens the discursive space for debates on wealth taxation.
