techies: always be careful what you install on your computer anything from the public internet should be suspect

The protomolecule knew what it was doing
From "your OS must enable you to declare your age" to "developers must attempt to verify your age" to "you must declare your age" to "you must prove your age" to "you must verify your identity to go online" in how long?

"AI writing code will replace software developers!"

You do not realize how very little of my job is hands-on-keyboard writing code. The vast majority is very human work.

Amazing what a difference it makes
@axnxcamr @misty @SnoopJ this is the best bit of trivia to share, but a big part of Linux game compatibility is modern DirectX 11/12 support which exists because one developer wanted to play NeiR so badly that he made the drivers to do it. I believe he works for Valve now, but the important part is that Proton was *made* to play N:A

Currently learning something connected to my ADHD that I had never learned about.

I've always wondered why I had such a hard time feeling like a lot of the times, whenever I wanted to talk about something in a deep meaningful way, that I would often get misunderstood?

Now I'm learning that those with ADHD often have a "Big Picture" perspective. More of a holistic approach rather then a linear one.

I can't tell you how much this explains my life for me.

The learning continues.

God, how do normal people even browse the internet anymore?

This is your semi-regular reminder that we all suffer from imposter syndrome as long as we work. Just do your best, focus on your personal growth, and see that you are better today then you were yesterday.

Some days feel harder than others, but that doesn't mean you are failing. Don't judge by comparing yourself to someone else, but compare yourself to who you were a year ago, a month ago, or a week ago. Have you improved? I promise that you have. We all grow and learn at our own pace and with our own experiences. These things take time, and there's no benefit in beating yourself up for not matching some gold standard.

I remind myself of this every few months, and I've been doing this for longer than I care to admit. You got this, and I believe in you.
