@queenofsquiggles I feel the same. I tried designing several "social network"-like apps to solve this issue, but they are really hard to make.
When you start thinking about how to abuse it, they all inevitable turn into:
- too public
- a dating site
- a feast for MLMs

Seen it happening with many already :(
Maybe after I'm not at the Godot Foundation anymore I'll give it another go, but it really is hard.

Best you can do is trying to attend/host local meetups of activities you like.

I feel like with movies people tend to use the 5 stars system a bit better. Checking on letterboxd for instance you see a lot of 2, 3, and 4s. But on something like an asset store, I find this to be the norm (see image).
If people like it, they give it 5, if they don't they give it a 1. Nothing in between.

To compensate for that they add the number next to each score, but I don't really think the rate system is working as intended
