Whenever a road needs repaving or utility work in Madison, the city takes the opportunity to redesign the road. This is building a “culture of safety” and reducing death and injury.
I would love to see a similar approach in San Francisco.
Direct routes for me 🚗, but not for thee 🚲.
Pretty good opinion piece in The Badger Herald
@TheWarOnCars I did it, I’ve become a patron supporter. I can’t say I have given up cars for 100% of my travels. I live in Oshkosh, WI, a city designed for cars. I use my Mini Cooper when bus travel is unavailable. I ride my bike when possible.
Change is so hard. We has bike lanes, but all they are is paint on roads. Bicycle riding is so dangerous!
Thanks for the work you are doing and for inspiring me . I’m looking forward to putting my sticker on my MacBook Air

🚦🚲 4-inch, near-side bike signals are cool, but they also provide important redundancy.
Recently, I got to experience this first hand, so I decided to check out the situation in more detail 👇

Your periodic reminder that MANY people can't drive, including all children.
Even among the license-eligible age group, many people don't drive. In Canada there were about 26.5 million licensed drivers in 2018, or about 85% of the population over 15. That leaves almost 1 in 7 teens and adults without driving as an option to get around.
This is your periodic reminder that car dependency is ableist and exclusive.
