Please scream inside your heart.

Somehow I've always missed the backstory theming of #dinoland at #animalkingdom . I picked up on the "roadside attraction" part of things but not the "dinoland institute" side at all.

Guess it's always just been hot, so go see Chip and Dale in dino costumes and put the kids on the spinner ride and go look for shade somewhere!

But here's a good rundown: https://disneyshawn.blogspot.com/2009/11/welcome-new-interns.html

Welcome New Interns

The story of Dinoland , U.S.A. is told through the relationships between several distinct groups of characters, each with a passion for dino...

Silver-eared Mesia is the other, thanks to a helpful redditor!
What birds are these? From an unlabeled set of 50 birds of the world, all the rest of which I've identified, so I assume these are also real. #birdsofmastodon
Hey Americans, feeling politically powerless? You have an election tomorrow. Fascists are targeting those boring state and local positions and using them for everything from abortion restrictions to book bans to criminalizing trans healthcare. It's up to you to stop them.
Cracks me up how many people on @NPR sound like they're reporting from the quiet car or in a room with a sleeping baby. Definitely a change from the yelling shows I used to listen to before 2015!
They've got a similar takeaway to higher self-harm rates among LGBT individuals - they show it as proof that that "lifestyle choice" only makes people miserable and if they'd only repent of their "deviance" then they'd be magically happy and at peace with themselves.

Re: women getting promoted as a likelihood for abuse:
Trad/RW groups know this stat well, and have a different takeaway - they argue that it's proof women shouldn't work outside the home or make demands on their husband (instead blindly trusting him to provide finances while she provides everything else). If women try to get uppity, that breaks the natural order of things, so it's no wonder they drive their husbands to "discipline" them. Some women internalize it too.

Then again, we have a lot of people in the US insisting that there is no anti-Black prejudice because Obama was president, and that you're an anarchist opposed to law and justice if you suggest any individual police officer might be corrupt or bad. So I don't know why I'm surprised.
So bizarre to hear, on @NPR just now, a BJP member insisting there can be no anti-Sikh prejudice from his Hindu nationalist party or in India at all because there has been a Sikh PM, and that it's racist to suggest anyone connected with India could privately carry out criminal activity.
