I used it for a bit when I was using one of my PCs as a media machine.

It worked, but it was a bit glitchy. Didn't really see many updates. Looking at it now it looks like they updated it to Wayland. Might be worth taking a look again.

You're not a crank. This is valid and accurate.

It's stupid to put so much reliance on what an unthinking unfeeling algorithm or AI says without any care into the validity of what it says.

But it's really hard not to fall into the slop pit of convenience and let it serve your gruel. I've got a ways to go to fix myself as well.

I'm going to change my yt bookmark to the subscriptions feed so that's the one I see first- I just wish I could hide shorts on my mobile like I have on desktop. I also need to find a better more effortful way of getting news than just browsing google news. Some of the shit it puts up is so fucking stupid.

I might also take stock and hide the worst offending apps on my phone.

Why not both? I'm an advocate of "not putting all your eggs in one basket"

Both have their place and are better for various reasons.
Honestly I've found BlueSky way more engaging than mastodon. That being said, mastodon is great too and I still browse it from time to time.

The only one I've parked is twitter. I still have an official account... But u rarely touch it (That X is the X of a closed runway to me, but it's there if I have no other choice)
