#Linux 6.9-rc1 is out: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/CAHk-=wgO[email protected]/

"'"This merge window looks to be fairly normal. […]

In contrast, what _is_ meaningful is a couple of very core updates. The timer subsystem had a fairly big rewrite [1][…] The other fairly notable core update is to the workqueue subsystem [2][…]

The core updates should be entirely invisible to users, […]

Please commence testing,

If you are #trans and a US citizen, you should absolutely, 100% apply for a passport this year, whether you plan to travel or not. Yes, it costs $$, but you can self-select your gender without bureaucratic BS (thanks, Joe), and it lasts 10 years and is valid ID everywhere in the world. Whatever fascist laws your GOP reps are proposing in your state legislature about gender markers on IDs, you will have a federal document that reflects your actual gender. And if necessary, you can use it to leave the country.
I have a feeling that the story I'm about to publish about a privacy company whose CEO apparently has founded dozens of people-search businesses is not going to end well for the privacy company or CEO.

Many times we have been recommended to use a #password manager but I personally have not heard on tips to #backup my password #database. Any #tips?

Also do you store your #2fa #totp secrets in a completely separate database from your password manager (ex. #bitwarden , #keepassxc, #1password )? If so, how do you remember it? How do you avoid circular dependency?

Please boost so I/we can benefit from multiple viewpoints. Thanks #fedi !!! :)

I just can't believe myself a small #introduction on #fedi gets that many traction and positive comments from many people across instances. The number isn't high but I would never exprience the same from Twitter and other mainstream media just for one introduction. I thought I would be screaming at the void. Is this #fediverse magic?
