Welcome home šŸŽ—ļøšŸ‡®šŸ‡±
It's 2025 and some hotels still have their reception PCs hooked up to the public wifi with VNC without a password.
A festival is nice but I think making wearing a kilt to work should be normalized.
Having fun at M'era Luna.
Feels so great to be back at 38C3.
150 days of reserve service in a year and counting. I used to think context switching between projects was hard, today I had to go from writing OPORDS to talking about vulnerability management in under an hour. At least I finally got normal espresso on base. Sadly both sides also involve dealing with PowerPoint.
I can call myself kickass but I will never be as awesome as @hacks4pancakes

Two controversial pieces of cybersecurity career advice I give to a lot of people I talk to on mentorship calls:

1) Don't become a manager unless you genuinely want to be a servant leader and devote yourself to people and program management for the joy and fulfillment of it.

2) Don't become a red teamer unless you genuinely in your heart of hearts want to be a red teamer, you understand what the role entails (even the boring parts), and you are willing to very deeply commit extra time and effort. They're generally much more competitive roles.

This is definitely not how I planned to meet 2024. I’m not sure I’m even mentally prepared to sum up 2023, because on a personal level it was one of my best years. 85 days in uniform and counting. May 2024 be as boring as it can be.
