Yesterday I updated the style for my microblog based upon one of the new themes made available. Initially I reverted the font back, but I ended up liking the new font so much I changed my other #blog and home page to roughly match.
My latest post for my research blog addresses an alternative term to use for describing certain videogame remakes. I'm pretty excited about what this can mean for future analysis.

I recently delivered my annual lecture on nostalgia and hauntology to my Masters students. As planned part of the discussion moved on to discussing videogame remasters and remakes, along with a bit on how the "ship of Theseus" fits in. Part of this also extended into what we actually mean by a remaster as opposed to a remake, and then onto how not all remakes take the same approach. During discussions about the Final Fantasy VII Remake, given how much that game ultimately detracts from the original, calling it a 'remake' seemed an inaccurate word to use to describe it...
