RE: https://fosstodon.org/@zotero/115940237935452399

Just gone back to Zotero after the best part of a decade. The process of importing my references couldn't have been easier!

I've been using Obsidian even more of late and now I'm finally financially contributing to it.

Obsidian and Upgrading to Sync - What's up with James?

For just over a year I've been using Obsidian. I used to use Notion for some of my personal/research note taking, but increasingly found it clunky...

@srgower I had used some app (forgot the name) on android to sync without paying for it. But it was quite clunky. For me it's that I don't want my personal cloud account on my work laptop. Or try and find a work around for that same cloud account on my other Linux laptop. This is the nearest solution for me. Or the most efficient option across three separate non-apple OS'.
Also there is a good plugin I used on my main device that then creates a backup that goes into my cloud storage. Obsidian rightly says not to think of the Sync as a backup.
Been tempted to get Obsidian Sync for a while to make it easier to use across different OS'. Realised that I could get educational discount so finally paid up. Seems to work well so far.
God save the Mullvad ads. This one got banned too, by The City of London.
@srgower it seems to be a "blog thing" as Pika and Pagecord do that as well. Hadn't realised until I just checked. But, as I'm not doing all the code I'm not too concerned.
Every now and then I do like to play around with web code. This time I've just tidied up behind the scenes for my website. I've now got a separate CSS file instead of duplicating the style code on every html page.
Writing in 2026 and what carried on from 2025 - What's up with James?

This is the first post I've been able to start writing in 2026, even though we're almost into the third week. I've been wanting to write something since the...
