What could this face mean?
Sazerac
45ml rye whisky
15ml cognac
5 dashes creole bitters
1 dash angostura bitters
10ml rich simple (2:1)
2 drops saline solution (2:8 salt:water by weight)
Absinthe
Prepare glass with generous spray of absinthe
Stir ingredients with ice
Strain into glass
Express lemon peel and garnish
Extra spray of absinthe for good luck
Picked up a new rye that I wanted to try, so a sazerac felt reasonable. Might halve the simple next time.
Topgallant
50ml gin
30ml red vermouth
1.25ml strega
1 dash angostura
Stir with ice
Strain
Express oils from lemon peel and garnish
I have a hard time telling if the strega does much in this cocktail, but the people in the comments on difford's guide seemed convinced. Overall very nice. I used another Hendrick's gin here which I think worked quite well, though maybe a more standard gin would let the strega shine more.
