A great martini variation for anyone who likes absinthe. Alas I forgot to put my gin in the freezer, and I can tell that was a missed opportunity, but it's still very good.

A nice bitter sweet cocktail to fight my cold (not how that works, but at least I feel better for the moment)
Maid in Cuba
2 slices cucumber
7 mint leaves
60ml white rum
22.5ml lime juice
15ml rich simple syrup (2:1)
10ml soda water
Absinthe
Muddle cucumber, then mint in a shaker
Add rum, lime juice, simple, and shake with ice
Rinse or spray a glass with absinthe before straining the contents of the shaker into it
Top with soda water
Garnish with cucumber
Very good, fresh, and nicely balanced
Earl Grey MarTEAni
60ml tea-infused gin (infused 180ml for 5 minutes)
22.5ml lemon juice
15ml simple syrup (2:1)
1 egg white
Shake without ice
Shake with ice
Double strain
Garnish with lemon peel
Simple and good. Here I used a smoky earl grey which turned out really nice and unique
Empress 75
45ml empress blue gin
15ml lemon juice
5ml rich simple (2:1)
75ml sparkling wine
Shake first three ingredients with ice
Double strain
Top with sparkling wine
Garnish with a lemon twist
A French 75 with a fancy blue gin for an added novelty factor. Simple and tasty.
Beneventum
40ml Strega liqueur
30ml dry vermouth
5ml lime juice
25ml pink grapefruit soda
Shake everything but soda with ice
Strain over ice
Top with soda
Garnish with a maraschino cherry
The strega and vermouth go very well together, making for a nice fresh taste.
Broken Plane
30ml gin
22.5ml Amaro nonino
22.5ml elderflower liqueur
15ml lemon juice
3 drops saline solution (1:4 salt:water by weight)
Shake with ice
Double strain
Garnish with lemon peel
First time using Amaro Nonino. Works well with the otherwise floral cocktail. Though depending on your palate and your liqueur it might be a bit on the sweeter side.
Pornstar martini
1 passion fruit
60ml vanilla vodka
20ml passion fruit liqueur
15ml vanilla sugar syrup (1:1)
15ml lime juice
60ml sparkling wine
Empty a passion fruit into a shaker
Add all other ingredients except the bubbles and shake with ice
Strain into a glass
Garnish with a passion fruit half, unless you like me miscounted the fruits, and had to garnish with a clementine slice instead
Serve the bubbles in a shot glass alongside
Egg nog
10 port
6 egg yolks
2dl sugar
4dl 40% fat cream
4dl almond milk
6cl maple syrup
20 allspice corns
20 cloves
Pinch of salt
4cl pressed ginger
Heat everything but ginger on stove, do not exceed 80°C
Cool in ice bath
Strain and bottle
Add ginger
Serve 10cl with 2cl dark rum
Garnish with expressed orange peel and grated muskot.
