"We have no elected government, nor are we likely to have one, so I address you with no greater authority than that with which liberty itself always speaks. I declare the global social space we are building to be naturally independent of the tyrannies you seek to impose on us. You have no moral right to rule us nor do you possess any methods of enforcement we have true reason to fear."

Part of me wishes the stereotypes about Tourette Syndrome would dissolve, even though the stereotypes are actually accurate for some people. For some people, it really does make them blurt out obscenity, flip people off, or what have you. I'm missing a molar because my TS just kept damaging it, and I didn't feel going back to the dentist what would likely have been several times over the rest of my life, just to have the same tooth fixed again and again. It'd already had a root canal once. I've never had any thoughts of harming myself intentionally, and I'm pleasantly surprised that I've never broken my collar bone any of the times I've punched the front of my own shoulder. I have some amount of joint pain at all times and I probably always will. It's exhausting.

You replied to me earlier, where I was saying I don't like RGB. I actually voted "other" on this. There are certain applications for RGB that are actually functional. Some keyboards for example, have per key RGB backlighting; I used to hove one. I had static colors on every key, but they were different colors based on what kind of key it was. The numpad was set to cyan, the alphanumeric and punctuation keys were "amber" (true yellow, really); enter, backspace, and escape were red; function keys were green. I literally just used an air traffic control keyboard as a reference. So there are ways to use RGB as, in effect, part of the UI. That's not how it's used most of the time, though.

@Christian_Freiherr_von_Wolff IMO* it's a market because most people aren't like us. Those blinking lights are entertaining to them without being distracting / overstimulating.

I'm with you. I don't want any lights that aren't functional indicators: supply, power, or fault.

*Now I'm curious if my opinion has any basis in reality. I'll make a poll...

I have the badge that MiniCon gave me for showing up to talk about rocks in space and about looking for aliens.

Do you own any items - individual specific items, not just ones of the same type - that have a cultural significance in some group?

A Trek prop, one of Mulder’s office posters, one of Steve Jobs’ turtlenecks, an animation cel, the spear of Longinus, ... - anything?
