Neobundist, Post-Civ Anarchist. Lenape territory. Decolonize all continents! (they/them) ND

Topics: collapse, conflict, science, and self-defense. 🌱🍄🐞

@velexiraptor who can teach this power?
@heck lmao not just you
@heck As long as this moment provides opportunities for networking and education toward creative and localized left organizing, I think a lot of good can come out of that--especially anarchist ideals like Especifism and Critical Pedagogy, which are critical for analyzing and planning within and among marginalized communities. Imho.
I used to love building and flying quadcopters, but today marks the day I'm officially done with this hobby. I can't justify dealing with the police for days every time I go flying for 20 minutes 😒
@CharmingRuins I’ll also provide some input about possible mitigation and adaptation strategies, in two scenarios; where there is a global voluntary conviction to use our assembled knowledge and technology while massively dropping the amount of energy used per capita in developed countries (very unlikely scenario) AND where there is no such agreement and we crash the plane of civilization nose-first (very likely scenario). #collapse

I’m going to be taking a break from self defense topics and shifting gears to discuss something more cerebral (probably not less depressing though. Let’s talk #collapse.

There are three main drivers of the impending collapse of industrial civilization.
1. #EnergyDescent
2. #ResourceDepletion
3. #ClimateChange

I’ll start by looking at each one separately, and then finish by explaining how they are deeply interconnected

@majormalfunction “Every tome we hear that a proposal will destroy society as we know it, we should have the courage to say, ‘Thank god’” - Stafford Beer
@tom_nomad @franklinlopez there was also not a pervasive feeling of existential dread back then as there is now. We are not de-escalating the level of urgency and polarization we have now...possibly ever. Shit will only get wilder as the wheels fall of Earth’s wagon
@whatanerd workers are commodities and our deaths are just another cost of doing business
@tom_nomad @franklinlopez I agree that we should reject the red vs blue idea of civil war the author puts forth, as not only the wrong strategic move but won’t further any of the goals on the left. I feel a growing sense that increasing calls for left unity are also a strategic blunder, the left doesn’t have a monopoly on anti-state actors. The last thing you want, which the media is succeeding at, is to push those folks to defend the state; they’re heavily armed and well trained (lot of vets)
