I had my first one-to-one class today as a beginner. It is something I have always wanted to do. I went from only just being able to stand on the board to pushing and kickturning, and the instructor even had me going partway up a ramp. I am very proud of myself, even though they are baby steps and I took a spectacular tumble… things hurt when you’re over 30 and overweight 🤣)

Today Allison and Sarah-Jane are on their honeymoon in Scotland! They still don’t fully understand newer concepts like honeymooning, and so they’ve invited their friends Matty and Sandy along to look for the Loch Ness Monster.

Sometimes when I draw Sarah-Jane and Allison, their friends’ daughter (their “niece”) joins them. She will not be introduced to the #FolkedUp universe until book 3, but it’s still fun to imagine what could happen.

I’m now back with a doodle of some characters to join Allison and Sarah-Jane (remember them?) in the forthcoming sequel to #FolkedUp - Inés, Alba, and Iñaki, polyamorous pirates from Hispania (Spain’s answer to Old England). I can’t wait to write more about their exploits!
It’s been a mad couple of weeks, but tonight I finally managed to get some doodling in. This time, it’s another character from my Spanish Civil War novel - guess I’m working my way through all of the characters now…
This is Ester, a secondary character with a very important role. She is the leader of an anarchist group working to rescue their comrades from prison in the aftermath of the war.
Continuing the theme of doodling OCs from my Spanish Civil War novel - now it’s the turn of Montse, the protagonist!
Here she is learning a skill out in the countryside that will come in handy in her postwar resistance activities…
