@nealjennings they have exactly the right number to be zoom zoom zoom
@nealjennings I get 2FA for jobs that needs a lot of added security, but mine isn't one of those x.x
@nealjennings shotty not. I hate teaching things that involve calculations because I know it's hard for students, but I just don't know *why* it's hard for students.
@nealjennings chemistry/physics
@nealjennings since the daughters are of the 7 seas, I'm choosing to believe there were 4 mothers representing the oceans.
@kevin no. My buses are constantly delayed or canceled and I would crumple if I shoulder that personally.
My sincere apologies
I fully admit
that sometimes my words
can be rather repetitive
but it is a challenge
not to repeat myself
as I sit near the end
of the pandemic’s fourth year
watching as we
repeat the same mistakes.
After the professor tells me
all of her students
are out sick
I ask if her university
says there’s a penalty
for too many sick days
and with a sigh she says
she’s ignoring that policy
if the only thing
her students
learn from her
is how to show compassion
she’ll be satisfied.

URGENT UKRI UPDATE

On Wednesday we gave UKRI 48hrs to reverse the suspension of its Equality, Diversity & Inclusion panel. It has not done so.

We are therefore calling on all UCU members with any voluntary positions at UKRI to resign.

Let us know if you've done so.

UKRI must reverse suspension to rescue its reputation

UCU has written to UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) calling on it to reverse its decision to suspend its advisory board on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within 48 hours. If it refuses to do so, the union will call on its members to resign from voluntary positions with the funding body.

Had a fun evening with colleagues where we laughed and I got laughed at in a way where I laughed along.

Most of us were overworked (both task wise as well as emotional labour) so it's a much needed pressure valve release.
