🚨Excited to share our most recent work from the Groth lab and a big chunk from my Postdoc😍: H2A-H2B are recycled with their PTMs during DNA replication independently from H3-H4. On replicated chromatin, crosstalk between recycled H2A-H2B PTMs and new H3-H4 promotes accurate and timely restoration of the chromatin landscape.
Thanks to everyone involved, especially Anja Groth, @RobKlose, @mscactions & the EMBO Longterm Fellowship.

Witnessing the awesome power of NMR spectroscopy. Amazing

Kubalová and collleagues used PALM/SIM to count the number of CENH3 in barley centromeres, estimating ~13,500 molecules per centromere #Chromosoma

Super-resolution microscopy reveals the number and distribution of topoisomerase IIα and CENH3 molecules within barley metaphase chromosomes - PubMed

Topoisomerase IIα (Topo IIα) and the centromere-specific histone H3 variant CENH3 are key proteins involved in chromatin condensation and centromere determination, respectively. Consequently, they are required for proper chromosome segregation during cell divisions. We combined two super-resolution …

And my partner attended the last hospital visit for the disease she developed 4 years ago. Just hoping that it will not relapse
Still far from answering the question but the transition from having no clue at all to being able to come up with testable ideas is huge
