I'm an early #medievalist, focusing on the #history of #law and #lawbooks from the sixth to thirteenth centuries. Postdoc historian on the #PresentDead project.
I'm also slowly creating a #ttrpg game based on the early #medieval #Lombard laws, #LangobardRPG. He/him.

That's relevant and cool, dear #bookhistory experts and #histodons: "The contaminated library" is out.

"The prejudice of the microbe as the enemy of the collection is questioned. Instead, the microbe is brought to the fore and made contextually visible as a book-biographical sign: traces on the book, including microbial ones, can bear witness to fire, flood, evacuation, and historical epidemics." Congratulations to the editors and authors!

@litteracarolina @medievodons hurrah! ✨🍾💐🥰
Currently reading my book proofs and alternating between “ooh I didn’t know that” and “wow that’s boring”. Since this is how I feel about most books I read, it seems I may have written a real book? @medievodons #bookstodon

A Girl and Her Fed

After a single-minded summer making this artist book and writing its monograph, that work is nearly and I had a few days off while my dad was visiting. I had a rather wonderful moment reconnecting with the parakeets in Hyde Park… Now I’m back in the studio with a bunch of raw ideas.

PATRON is a game set in the Renaissance. You play a newly-created saint.

Spend your divine influence to affect the world, becoming patron saint of trades, cities and countries over time increasing your pool of devotion and powers

But remember other saints want the same thing...

(PATRON doesn't exist, but every time I visit a heavily-Catholic European city, I regret I don't have the skills to create it)

@michaelmeckler oh, that's fantastic, Fangzhe has a wonderful chapter in my Law | Book | Culture volume, so I'm especially delighted to see this project progressing! 🎉🥂

Post-doc in early Irish law (with some digital humanities):

Well, it's been over 30 years since I first joined in a #ttrpg, and I've only played different versions of this one twice in all that time - but I've finally bought my own core rules set! For research-work¹
